Kitchen cabinet styles explained: shaker, slim shaker, frameless and raised panel

September 28, 2026 5 min readUpdated September 28, 2026By Novara Construction

The four cabinet families in Novara's collection, how they differ, and which kitchens each one suits.

Quick answer

Shaker cabinets have a recessed flat panel with a square frame and suit almost any kitchen. Slim shaker uses a narrower frame for a cleaner, more modern look. Frameless (European) cabinets have full-overlay doors with no face frame, giving a sleek look and slightly more interior space. Raised panel doors have a center panel that rises toward you, suiting traditional kitchens. All four are available in Novara's kitchen cabinet collection.

Shaker

A five-piece door with a flat recessed panel. It works in transitional, farmhouse and modern kitchens and hides wear well.

Slim shaker

The same idea with a narrow rail, reading more modern while keeping some detail.

Frameless European

Doors cover the whole box with no face frame, creating continuous lines and easier access to interiors.

Raised panel

A profiled center panel for classic and traditional homes.
