Why flooring at Novara
Most Houston-area homes sit on concrete slabs, and slabs can hold moisture. Testing and the right underlayment or vapor barrier protect the new floor from cupping and adhesive failure.
Porcelain tile and luxury vinyl plank are the most moisture-tolerant options; engineered hardwood is the stable wood choice over slabs. We explain the tradeoffs before you choose.

What flooring is best for a Houston slab?
Porcelain tile and quality luxury vinyl plank handle moisture best; engineered hardwood is the stable wood option.
Do you remove old flooring?
Yes. Removal and disposal are included in the written scope when needed.
LVP or tile — which is better in Houston?
Both handle humidity and slab moisture well. Tile is harder-wearing and cooler underfoot; LVP is warmer, quieter and usually faster to install. Our LVP vs tile guide compares them side by side.
Can you install flooring through the whole house at once?
Yes. Whole-home flooring is usually done in phases by room so you can keep living in the house, with baseboards and transitions finished as each area is completed.
